Pups can get along with kitten with training
Q: In a previous column you said dogs can be taught cat manners. We have two 8-year-old miniature poodles and have brought in a kitten. She's been in a separate room for a couple of months but we are having trouble with our female being aggressive. We tried a baby gate but she lunges at it. The dogs haven't had formal obedience training and it takes some time before Duchess will listen to sit/stay.

How can I stop my dog from pooping inside?
Q: My neutered 15-month-old, male, toy crossbreed is good natured and playful but efforts to housebreak him are not going well. He is crated while I'm at work, gets a walk at lunch and when I'm there has the run of the house. Despite long walks he'll frequently wait until he's back in the house then sneak off to defecate. He clearly knows he is supposed to eliminate outside and is rewarded and praised when he does. I am very discouraged. What advice do you have? -- GF, Hershey
